Refund & Return Policy

Thank you for shopping with Dark Horse Tackle. We stand behind everything we sell and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Please read our policy carefully before making a purchase.


Returns — Physical Products & Merchandise

We accept returns on eligible items within 30 days of the delivery date.

To be eligible for a return, items must be:

  • Unused and in their original condition
  • In the original packaging, with all tags and components intact
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase (order number or receipt)

Items that do not meet these conditions will not be accepted for return and will be sent back to the customer at their expense.

The following items are non-returnable:

  • Items marked as final sale or clearance
  • Gift cards
  • Any item that has been used, opened, or altered

How to Initiate a Return

  1. Email us at support@darkhorsetackle.com within 30 days of receiving your order
  2. Include your order number and reason for the return
  3. Wait for a return authorization — do not send items back without approval
  4. Ship the item(s) back using a trackable shipping method

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a trackable service, as we are not responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit.

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.


Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive an item that is damaged or defective, please contact us within 72 hours of delivery at support@darkhorsetackle.com with:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Photos of the damage or defect

We will make it right at no cost to you — either by sending a replacement or issuing a full refund, at our discretion.


Subscription Boxes

All subscription box sales are final once the box has shipped. We are unable to offer refunds or returns on subscription boxes after they have been dispatched.

Cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time before your next billing cycle to avoid being charged for future boxes. Cancellations do not apply retroactively to boxes that have already shipped or been charged.

If your subscription box arrives damaged or with missing items, please contact us within 72 hours of delivery and we will work to resolve the issue.


Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges at this time. If you would like a different item, please initiate a return for the original item (if eligible) and place a new order.


Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven't received your refund within 7 business days of our approval notice:

  1. Check your bank account again
  2. Contact your credit card company — it may take additional time for the refund to post
  3. Contact your bank

If you have done all of the above and still have not received your refund, please contact us at support@darkhorsetackle.com.


Third-Party Supplier Products (Shopify Collective)

Some products in our store — including certain apparel, gear, and non-tackle items — are fulfilled directly by third-party suppliers through Shopify Collective. These products are clearly identified by their brand name on the product page.

Returns on these items work the same way for you as any other Dark Horse Tackle purchase:

  • You have 30 days from delivery to initiate a return
  • Items must be unused and in original packaging
  • Contact us directly at support@darkhorsetackle.com — you never need to deal with the supplier yourself
  • We handle all communication and coordination with the supplier on your behalf

Return shipping on third-party supplier items is the responsibility of the customer unless the item arrives damaged or defective, in which case we will cover return shipping at no cost to you.

Once a return is received and inspected by the supplier, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.
