Thank you for shopping with Dark Horse Tackle. We want to get your baits to you as fast as possible so you can get on the water. Please read our shipping policy carefully before placing your order.
Where We Ship
Dark Horse Tackle currently ships to addresses within the United States only, including all 50 states.
We are proud to ship to APO/FPO addresses through USPS in support of American military personnel serving abroad. Please note that delivery timeframes to military addresses may be longer than standard domestic shipments due to military mail routing.
We do not currently ship to international destinations or U.S. territories. If this changes in the future we will update this policy accordingly.
Order Processing Time
All orders are processed within 1-2 business days of being placed. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Orders placed on weekends or holidays will begin processing on the next business day. You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information once your order has shipped.
During periods of high order volume — such as around product launches, subscription box ship dates, or holiday seasons — processing times may be slightly longer. We will communicate any delays proactively.
Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the weight of your order and your delivery location (postal zone). You will see your exact shipping cost before completing your purchase — there are no surprise fees after checkout.
We use economy shipping on all orders. While we currently ship primarily through USPS, we reserve the right to use the most reliable and cost-effective carrier available for your location, which may include UPS, FedEx, or other carriers. Regardless of carrier, you will always receive tracking information for your order.
Free Shipping
Bait Shop and Merchandise orders of $100.00 or more qualify for free shipping on eligible items. Free shipping is applied automatically at checkout when your qualifying order total is reached — no code needed.
The following product types count toward the $100.00 free shipping threshold:
- All products from the Bait Shop
- Dark Horse Tackle Merchandise
Please note the following exclusions:
Free shipping does not apply to:
- Subscription products of any kind (monthly boxes, recurring packs, etc.)
- Products from our Beyond the Baits section
- Any order that does not meet the $100.00 threshold after discounts are applied
Subscription orders are shipped separately and are always subject to standard shipping rates based on weight and postal zone. Beyond the Baits products are fulfilled by third-party suppliers and are not eligible for the free shipping threshold.
Delivery Timeframes
Once your order ships, estimated delivery times are typically 3-8 business days depending on your location and the carrier's current service levels. These are estimates and not guarantees — actual delivery times may vary due to carrier delays, weather, or other factors outside our control.
Dark Horse Tackle is not responsible for delays caused by the carrier once your package has been handed off for delivery.
Order Tracking
You will receive a shipping confirmation email containing your tracking number as soon as your order ships. You can use this tracking number directly on the carrier's website to monitor your delivery.
If you have not received a shipping confirmation within 3 business days of placing your order, please contact us at support@darkhorsetackle.com and we will look into it right away.
Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Packages
If your package is marked as delivered but you have not received it, please first check with neighbors and any secure package locations around your property. If you are still unable to locate it, contact us at support@darkhorsetackle.com within 5 business days of the marked delivery date and we will work with you to resolve the issue.
If your package arrives damaged, please contact us within 72 hours of delivery with photos of the damage and your order number. We will make it right.
Dark Horse Tackle is not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after confirmed delivery. We recommend ensuring your delivery address is secure before placing your order.
Address Accuracy
Please double-check your shipping address before completing checkout. Dark Horse Tackle is not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrect address provided at the time of purchase. If you realize you have made an error, contact us at support@darkhorsetackle.com immediately — if your order has not yet shipped we will do our best to correct it.
Subscription Box & Monthly Box/Pack Shipping
The Dark Horse Tackle Box & The Pack — Subscriptions and Single Purchase
Both The Box and The Pack are available as recurring subscriptions and as single-purchase monthly orders. All subscription and monthly single-purchase orders follow the same shipping schedule regardless of how they were purchased.
Our monthly ship date is the 9th of each month. All subscription and monthly Box/Pack orders ship within 5 business days of the 9th.
Subscription Start Date:
The cutoff to receive the current month's box is the 9th of the month.
- Subscribe on or before the 9th — you will receive that month's Box or Pack, shipping within 5 business days of the 9th.
- Subscribe on the 10th or later — your first Box or Pack will ship within 5 business days of the following month's 9th.
Have you subscribed after the 9th but still want that month's box? We sometimes have extra inventory available. If you'd like to receive the current month's Box or Pack, contact us at support@darkhorsetackle.com and let us know. If extras are available we will do our best to bump your subscription up to the current month. This is subject to availability and is not guaranteed, but we will always do our best to take care of you.
Single-Purchase Monthly Box & Pack:
The shipping window for single-purchase monthly orders is based on when you place your order:
- Order placed before the 14th of the month — your order ships within 5 business days of the 9th of that month. This includes early sales where the following month's Box or Pack goes on sale in advance — for example, if April's Box becomes available for purchase in late March, it will ship within 5 business days of April 9th regardless of when in March you ordered.
- Order placed on or after the 14th of the month — your order ships within the standard 1-2 business days as that month's batch has already processed.

Limited Special Edition Boxes
From time to time Dark Horse Tackle releases limited special edition boxes. These are single-purchase only and are not part of any subscription.
Limited edition boxes do not follow the standard monthly shipping schedule. They are released as preorders and the ship date is listed in the product description at the time of purchase. That date is our commitment to you. Please review the product description carefully before ordering so you know when to expect your shipment.
Shipping costs for all subscription, monthly Box/Pack, and limited edition box orders are calculated based on weight and postal zone and are charged at the time of shipment. Free shipping thresholds do not apply to any of these products.
Tracking information is sent to the email address associated with your account when your order ships.
